Holy craziness that is my life these days.
Just finished midterms for Winter quarter
& will find out how that played out very soon.
Lab-work is going well, I am quite
the behaviorist-turned molecular biologist.
[anyone that has worked in a lab with me is probably laughing
...Amynah & Anna if you are reading this, i swear its true!]

In other news, I am attempting to start my training for the
Portland Rock n Roll Half Marathon &
thats not going so well...
Shin splints and hurting ankles and I am only running
about 5k! [LAME!]
Wah, Wah.
Cross your fingers for me that training improves,
or I am going to be in big trouble come May.

In better [more interesting news]
I saw two really good bands this last week.
Bombay Bicycle Club at the Doug Fir
& Grimes at Halocene.
While waiting for Grimes to come on stage, we met this guy
Rick Mereki who travels all over the world filming amazing things...
He was in Portland because he just got done traveling the U.S.
shooting a music video for Matt Kearney.
You should click on his name and check him out. Cool stuff.

Anyway, Grimes was pretty impressive, she has quite the voice &
commands the stage all by herself.
Here are a couple photos of the night:
& in the MOST interesting news yet,
Me & my new roomie [pictured above] found a place in Southeast Portland!
Yay!
A little about the place:
its a 3 story house turned into a triplex (we are on the ground floor).
1,000 sq feet, 12 foot ceilings and a bonus room off of the kitchen!
It also has a small back yard :)
Pretty awesome. We move in on March 1st (holy crap!).
& we are going to have a housewarming/birthday
party on St. Patricks Day, which should be fun....
3 parties wrapped in one & a great way to christen the new place :)
Get ready for some home decor posts, because I am
back to obsessing over decorating & DIY projects for our new flat!
[People don't call them 'flats' here in Portland, but as far as I am concerned,
I am definitely moving into a flat...So deal with it!]
Needless to say, I will really miss my current roomies,
& I think Bug and Davina are going to be especially heartbroken about the move:
But I won't miss the commute from Happy Valley to OHSU every day!
Well...I think that is all for now.
I have to finish some work so I can go pick up Anna from the airport.
YAY! Can't wait to take her around Portland & go snowboarding tomorrow!
